Jasmine Brown grew up in North Philadelphia and always had a desire to help people. At a young age she would volunteer at Widener memorial school assisting children with disabilities around the school. When she was in the eighth grade she started a big sister/ big brother program where the seniors would partner with the first graders to help them in computer class. This allowed the teacher to have less stress and the children to get more one-on-one time. Once entering high school Jasmine took on familiar roles such as volunteering with the special needs class. Continuing on, she proceeded to work with her mother who owns “Two Dollars Can Change a life” a non-profit based in Philadelphia. This non-profit focused on aiding the homeless, helping underprivileged children, as well as women who had troubling pasts. While attending Community College of Philadelphia she continued to work in the community through community feeds/ givebacks. Since leaving college she still strives to make a difference.
