Tyshawn Myles

Vice President

Tyshawn Myles was born in Brooklyn NY, but his entire life he was raised in the South Bronx. He made tremendous strides to get to where he is in life now. Growing up he was 1 of 10 siblings living in cramped apartment complexes in some of the most impoverished neighborhoods. He bounced from shelter to shelter seeking guidance and stability. Ironic as it is the constant instability is what led him to basketball. The sport did more than he could ever imagine, it led him to meeting some of the closest people to him. It led him to being able to play and graduate from Drexel University with a Degree in Communications and a minor in Corporate Public Relations, which ultimately led to him continuing his journey right here in Philadelphia.

With more stability Tyshawn was able to focus and reorganize his priorities. He learned not only did he want stability, he also wanted to help someone in the same predicament he once was in. No one should ever have to go through life without support and that is Tyshawn’s goal. Joining The Tennessee Program is a means to getting closer to helping the next kid seeking guidance, potentially on a larger scale in the communities of Philadelphia.
